Hunaara joined Taiao Connect Limited in early 2023 and supported the response and recovery efforts in the aftermath of Cyclone Hale and Cyclone Gabrielle.
Raised in an intergenerational household in Tikitiki on his whanau farm, Hunaara was fortunate enough to have been brought up speaking Te Reo Ake o Ngati Porou.
He primarily works from Wellington and is also currently employed fixed-term at the Ministry of Education supporting the redevelopment of Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.
In his role here at Taiao Connect Limited, Hunaara supports our Ngati Porou based projects and serves as our lead cultural advisor.
He is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts degree at Victoria University of Wellington.
